Designer Trend: Dark, Colorful Cabinets

We’re seeing a trend with designers on social media: Dark, Colorful Cabinets are in style

Kitchen cabinets have transformed into prime real estate for color. We’ve been following some of the best interior designers for the past year and noticed dark, colorful cabinets making a powerful statement in kitchen designs. One notable theme we also noticed: wood accents paired with dark, colorful cabinets.

We’ve pulled together some of our favorite cabinets, broken down by the colors we’ve seen trending: Dark blue, green, bluish-gray and black.

 

Dark Blue Cabinets

One of the great things about dark blue cabinets is how easily it plays with bright white. Whether the cabinets lean more navy or dark teal, the transition to this shade is an easy leap for someone who leans on a traditional design.

Colorful Green Cabinets

My favorite trending color has to be green. The forest or moss greens that are popping up on designers social media pages make me want to redo my whole kitchen. If you love a bohemian style in your home, especially playing off shades of pink, consider throwing colorful green on your cabinets.

Bluish-Gray cabinets

The inclusion of wood accents with bluish-gray cabinets makes these kitchen designs spectacular. Adding wood to the exhaust fan hood or on the countertop creates a homey energy without sacrificing a bold design.

We’ve been seeing black or blackish gray cabinets hitting the social media of interior designers as well. These cabinets are typically paired with a contrasting bright white cabinet and wall paint.
