As the weather gets warmer and Spring trends start to bloom we wanted to highlight one of Charlotte’s hottest interior style boutiques, The Vogue Room. Owner Ebony Staten dives right into what makes her business stand out from the rest (other than working with the famous Property Brothers) and how she’s making an impact on the Charlotte community.
Tell us about The Vogue Room?
The Vogue Room is an interior styling boutique providing high-fashion living in Charlotte. With a combination of high style, high fashion, and high design, The Vogue Room uniquely curates spaces designed just for its clients. Not only does The Vogue Room provide design services, but you can also find styling tips and inspiration every day on its blog.

Moreover, The Vogue Room recently launched The Vogue Room Foundation. The Vogue Room Foundation is a non-profit organization in which we provide a dorm room makeover. Created to help a deserving, first-generation minority female student adapt to their new life living on campus at a North Carolina state college or university. The scholarship provides funding to purchase the necessary items and a professional designer to create a uniquely stylish, comfortable living space to help the student feel empowered to achieve her academic goals. What makes your interior design approach different?
I love to incorporate fashion and personal style. During the consultation, I always tour the client’s closet to see what she loves!
Is there a specific theme or feel to your design?
My style is synonymous to high fashion design. Bold, modern, glamorous, slightly edgy, yet ahead of the trend. I love over exaggerated, heavy, rich and luxe patterns and textures, paired with feminine curves, metallic finishes, and saturated colors—like my lipstick and nail polish. Fashion forward design infused with modern interiors is my jam!

What is your favorite color trend at the moment?
I’ve always had a thing for the color Chartreuse! Half yellow, half green–it’s so bold and full of personality!
What color challenges do you find you run into with clients?
The biggest challenge is clients not knowing what color they want to incorporate into their space. However, it turns out to be a fun task because I get to introduce them to different color palettes.
What brands or bloggers do you follow for inspiration?
That’s tough! I’m literally inspired by so many things. Last month, Paris Couture Week wrapped up and the runway fashions totally inspired me. From Balmain to Valentino; the colors, fabrics, and textures of the garments, immediately my wheels start turning. Next month, I’m looking forward to the High Point Furniture Market because it’s such an inspiration trip. From showrooms like Bernhardt & Global Views to Kelly Wearstler, just to name a few—it’s so much to digest and I love every minute of it!
