Sherwin-Williams Partners with Vishion

Charlotte, N.C. startup Vishion looks to make matching paint and home decor online easier and more accurate.

CLEVELAND (October 31, 2018) – Sherwin-Williams is partnering with mobile application startup Vishion on the development of a color-focused search engine to help shoppers match their favorite Sherwin-Williams paint color with their home decor.

“With our extensive palette, Sherwin-Williams has colors that will beautifully complement any home décor,” said Ellen Moreau, senior vice president of marketing communication at the Sherwin-Williams Company. “We are excited about this opportunity to make it easy for designers and consumers to confidently select the perfect color for their decorating projects.”

Vishion’s color search engine mobile app will allow users to find Sherwin-Williams paint colors that match existing furniture, art, wallpaper or other home decor. For those seeking decor inspiration, the app will suggest items to complement selected paint colors and include information on where to purchase them.

“The ability to match paint to wallpaper and decor has been one of the most requested functionalities by the interior designers on our waitlist,” said Sam Smith, founder and CEO of Vishion. “Our goal is to help conscientious shoppers find exactly what they seek, but if you’re still at step one in your design, we can also be a point of color inspiration.”

The mobile app lets users pull a color from an image and select from 1,500+ Sherwin-Williams colors to begin a product search. Vishion works with retailers to collect accurate color data for each product, ensuring a more exact color match for consumers researching products online.

The beta version of the app is scheduled to be released in early November exclusively to interior designers and design students. Vishion will also invite a small number of users on the waitlist to try the app prior its spring 2019 launch.
